Another early WAwineman classic short, 1st posted on September 21, 2008:
The fourth and last of the incredible tastings on the bar this afternoon, this dandy posted a lighter shade of purple than the Grand Ciel, but was the better in fragrance and stronger in the tail. Powerful but not overripe. Let this one be tamed by age. Tail trail: 10 seconds. Value: $50.
Syrah 97%, viognier 3%.
Yakima Valley AVA. Ciel du Cheval 43%, Boushey 37%, 17% Grand Ciel, 3% (v) Ciel du Cheval. Tail trail: 10 seconds.
92 WS. Goes great with decadent cheeses served in a chateau on a beautiful, warm autumn day. A special thanks to Ann and Shawna, who served up the wines with a smile.
This is WAwineman on the road…still uncorked, uneducated but not uncouth.
