Tasted at 61-64 degrees on the IR temp gun. Color: soft, transparent ruby rose petals with a browned edge. Nose: faded glory. Mouthfeel: thin. Tail trail: 8 seconds. Flavors: cherry liqueur, old leather belt, expired red licorice. Tasted like a 10 year-old cuvee of Oregon pinot noir. Clearly on the decline but still very elegant. Food pairings were: Chex Mix Traditional (good), beef casserole (fun), and Swiss chard (it worked).
Alcohol: 14.5%. Unfined and unfiltered. Red Willow Vineyard. Yakima Valley AVA. Power: 2/5. Balance: 2/5. Depth: 2/5. Finesse: 1/5. Rated: 87. Value: $18. Paid: $24. This is WAwineman… uncorked, uneducated but not uncouth.
