Januik Winery 2010 Lewis Vineyard syrah

Tasted at 54-64 degrees on the IR temp gun. Energetic deep garnet throughout with aromas of smoked bacon and rainforest after an autumn storm. Earthy. Mushroomy. Bacony. Thick and full on the palate with slow rolling tunes of ripe black plum, black licorice, roast beef, Lowry’s prime rib, black cherry, and saline. A dazzling pairing with chicken tikka masala (note to my Indian contingent).

Alcohol: 14.4%. Columbia Valley AVA. Power: 3/5. Balance: 3/5. Depth: 3/5. Finesse: 3/5. Rated: 92. Value: $37. Paid: $30. This is WAwineman… uncorked, uneducated but not uncouth.
