Tasted at 62-68 degrees on the IR temp gun. Color: deep magenta. Nose: kiddy chocolate, blackberry. Mouthfeel: full-bodied. Tail trail: 7 seconds. Flavors: oak, blackberry, bitter chocolate. Paired with pizza night. Meh.

Alcohol: 14.4%. Wahluke Slope AVA. Power: 2/5. Balance: 1/5. Depth: 1/5. Finesse: 1/5. Rated: 85. Value: $10. Paid: $30+. This is WAwineman… uncorked, uneducated but not uncouth.

Meh with pizza or meh overall? You usually jump on the Janiuk bandwagon. No love for Cab tonight?

Meh to the wine for not acting like a cabernet and for not playing well with the combo pizzas. Yeah, I really like Januik’s wines but not this one. Januik Winery does well in the $20-$35 category across a broad platform of many single vineyard varietals and the tasting room is a fun place to hit on the tourists.
