I really like many of the Sauv Blancs I’ve tasted lately! All the zesty grapefruit/citrus flavors without the dreaded “grassy” aftertaste. When we were on our cruise last year, I tasted a New Zealand Sauv Blanc that set a new scale for grassiness, followed by an almost equally undrinkable California selection. I like the direction Washington is going with this varietal!

Ab, ya know… I never got into that “grassy” thing either. If the s.b. reflected green in the bottle, then fuhhget about it! I ain’t buyin’ it. Leave it for the rabbits.

Why did it take so long for upscale wineries to embrace “southern” Columbia Valley sb’s? Well, thankfully for the ’12s and 13’s, we won’t have to digest that incredulous question.

This is a solid sauvignon blanc that does not pretend or hint to be anything else. A good deal.
