Auclair Winery 2013 Red Mountain sauvignon blanc

Yeah, I told ya Charlie was bringin’ it on when he won our Rookie of the Year award! Solid lineup of wines even if his top-tier stuff is overpriced.

Tasted at 52-58 degrees on the IR temp gun. Color: bright lemon. Nose: punchy citrus, peach, yellow flowers. Mouthfeel: medium-bodied. Tail trail: 9 seconds. Flavors: pink grapefruit, pineapple, guava, crème brulee. Pretty good for a sub-1000 case winery.

Alcohol: 13.5%. Artz Vineyard. Red Mountain AVA. Co-fermented with 18% semillon. Aged sur lie for 6 months and kept chilled to avoid malo. 25% barrel fermented. Bottled Feb. 22, 2014. Power: 3/5. Balance: 2/5. Depth: 2/5. Finesse: 2/5. Rated: 89. Value: $20. Paid: forgot but it’s sold out so who cares. This is WAwineman… uncorked, uneducated but not uncouth.
